Tork Motors, a Pune-based electric bike start-up launched T6X, India's first premium electric motorcycle at an introductory price of Rs 1.25 lakh. T6X will be introduced in three markets of Pune, Bangalore and Delhi initially and bookings are open now.
Powered by lithium ion batteries, the T6X can get to top speed of 100kmph. The motorcycle runs 100km on a single charge when plugged to a 15A power socket. The battery can be charged upto 80 per cent in an hour and full charge in two hours. Tork Motors also claims the battery life will last up to 80,000 to 1,00,000km, depending upon the usage. The T6X will be available in three colour options.
Being the premium offering, the T6X comes with many new features such as on board navigation, storage, cloud connectivity, full digital display, quick charge and superior acceleration. It will connect with rider's android or iOSmobile device through Tork's app to communicate battery capacity left, range, service alerts and customised riding profiles. Apart from these, the T6X boasts of safety features like ABS, CDS, anti-theft and, geo fencing and daytime running lamps.
The T6X measures 1,960mm in length, 784mm in width, 1,085mm in height and 1,336mm wheelbase. The motorcycle comes with 160mm of ground clearance and 130kg of weight.
Based on the custom Trellis frame, the T6X is employed with Telescopic front forks and spring loaded hydraulic rear suspension. Braking power comes from 267mm disc at front wheels and 220mm disc brakes at rear.
Tork Motors is working on charging infrastructure in the target markets. Currently the brand has set up six charging points in Pune and aims to take the number to 100 by December 2016 in Pune.
