Xbox One had to play catch-up with Sony's PS4, following its release in late 2013 even as it had to deal with the bad press after it insisted on the digital rights management (DRM) system and usage of Kinect at all times.
But since then, Microsoft has listened to fans and is giving PS4 a close competition with the worldwide sales. Even though, the NPD figures in November 2015 revealed PS4 winning over Xbox One, it was a good month for Xbox One too as there was an increase in its sale.
Xbox One is Microsoft's flagship and features several new features that were not present in Xbox 360, like with the fine-tuned design of the controller, social media features, new UI and voice navigation.
Xbox One has since then bounced back announcing the New Xbox One Experience feature and fan favourite Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature that allowed players to experience Xbox 360 games in Xbox One, with over 100 titles to chose.
It also dropped its price and must-have Kinect systems from its bundle, making many players opt for it instead of PS4.
Microsoft had revealed in November 2014 that it had shipped more than 10 million units worldwide. Xbox One also enjoyed a good line up of games with some of them being exclusive to the console.
