IFA is considered to be one of the most happening consumer electronics show that takes place every year where all the major consumer electronics companies launch their key products. The event is also treated as a global platform to get media's and enthusiasts' attentions from around the world.
Like every year, IFA 2015 also experienced numerous high voltage releases including smartphones, Smartwatches and other spectacular gadgets. Famous smartphone makers like Sony, Huawei, Lenovo, Acer and ZTE launched their products. Here is our pick of smartphones, which was unveiled this year.
Huawei Mate S
Chinese smartphone maker Huawei launched its most anticipated flagship smartphone Mate S. Apart from packing a powerful combination of hardware elements, Huawei Mate S comes with Huawei's own version of Force Touch technology, which Apple unveiled in its Smartwatch -- Apple Watch. The Huawei Mate S detects the pressure sensitivity of your finger and acts accordingly.
Apart from that, Huawei Mate S packs a 5.5-inch, 1080x1920 pixels display overlaid with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for extra protection. Powered by a homemade octa-core HiSillicon Kirin 935 processor backed with 3GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB built-in storage, the Huawei Mate S packs a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. The device also comes with a micro SD card slot with a capacity of 128GB and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
Marshall London
Marshall London is an Android smartphone focused at the the audiophiles. Made by the famous audio company Marshall, the Marshall London features a wolfson chip, 2 3.5mm audio out port and 2 front speakers. Powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, the device comes with a full fledged DJ app, equaliser, and FLAC audio support. The device also packs a 8MP+2MP camera, 2,500 mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
Sony Xperia Z5
Sony launched its latest Xperia flagship smartphone dubbed Z5. Xperia Z5 boasts a 5.2-inch LCD IPS display with Full HD (1080P) resolution and come powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC. On the memory side, Xperia Z5 packs 3GB RAM and 32GB storage expandable up to 200GB. Powered by a 2,900 mAh battery, Xperia Z5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and packs a 23MP+5MP camera combination.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the bigger brother of Xperia Z5 with a few more powerful additions. Xperia Z5 Premium is the first smartphone in the world to feature a 4K or Ultra HD smartphone with a whopping resolution of 2,160x3,840 pixels. The device also packs a bigger 3,430 mAh battery inside for offering more battery life than Xperia Z5.
Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
Sony released another variant of Xperia Z5 but unlike Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact is the inexpensive edition of the phone. Xperia Z5 compact boasts a 4.6-inch, 720x1280 pixels display. The device retains the camera combination and processor as of Xperia Z5 but packs a less powerful 2GB RAM and a 2,700 mAh battery.
Lenovo Vibe S1
Lenovo Vibe S1 comes with a five-inch, 1080x1920 pixels display and is powered by an octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.7GHz.
The device has 3GB RAM and a 2,500 mAh battery. In the front, Vibe S1 flaunts a pair of snappers with 8MP and 2MP sensors and on the back it packs a 13MP camera. The device has a thickness of 7.8mm and packs a micro SD card slot with a capacity of 128GB. The device will be available by November for $299.
Lenovo Phab and Phab Plus
Surprising the smartphone enthusiasts once again, Lenovo has launched a 7-inch smartphone in 2 models dubbed Lenovo Phab and Lenovo Phab Plus. Lenovo Phab packs a 7-inch, 720x1280 pixels display, while Lenovo Phab Plus boasts a 6.8-inch display with Full HD resolution. The Lenovo Phab also packs an inferior quad-core processor in comparison with Phab Plus's Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor. Both the devices also differ in memory segment. While the Lenovo Phab packs a 1GB RAM and 16GB storage, the Phab Plus doubles the RAM and storage.
Acer Jade Primo
After a long period we got to see a non-LUMIA smartphone running Windows mobile operating system, courtesy Acer. Named as Acer Jade Primo, the Windows 10 smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch, 1080P Super AMOLED display and come powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC. Acer Jade Primo also packs a powerful 21MP rear camera sensor and a 8MP front snapper.
Acer Predator 6
Though Acer categorises the Acer Predator 6 as tablets, we featured them in this article noticing the Lenovo Phab's specification.
Acer Predator 6, comes with the world's first deca-core or 10-core MediaTek processor and promises to deliver 30% more power efficiency than the competitors. The Acer Predator 6 also features a 4GB RAM and a six-inch display. Predator 6 also packs a 21MP rear camera and four speakers for delivering the best gaming experience.
ZTE Axon Elite
ZTE Axon Elite is the international edition of ZTE Axon, released earlier exclusively in the US Market. ZTE Axon Elite comes with an option to lock the device through your eye scan, fingerprint or voice. Alongside, Axon Elite packs a 5.5-inch, 1080x1920 pixels, 2.5D curved glass display and come powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC. The device also packs 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage with memory expandability support. Powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, Axon Elite packs a 13MP primary and a 2MP secondary camera.
