Fans and players of publisher Activision's newest skateboarding video game, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, were disappointed after reports said the game was buggy.
The game was released on PS4 and Xbox One on 29 September, 2015. It is scheduled to hit PS3 and Xbox 360 on 10 November, 2015.
Gaming website, Attack of the Fanyboy, called the game a 'mess.' It reported how the game was lagging without any proper reason, it went on to say that how the online mode has issues – it wasn't loading any levels.
The report continued, saying that though the game is better when played offline, it too has its share of glitches. It was noticed to have poor framerate issues and lagging.
One such issue was where the skater would get stuck in the scenery.
Soon after its release, the game received a huge 7.7GB update, which was reportedly bigger than the size of the file it was shipped with.
Activision has assured fans that it not only aware of the issues in the game but is working to fix them. "We are aware of the issues that players have experienced following the launch of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 and are working with the developer to address these so that we can continue to improve the gameplay experience for all of the Tony Hawk fans who have known and loved this franchise for more than 16 years," it said in a statement.
The game has received unfavourable reviews with a metascore of 27 on the Metacritic. ShackNews said in its review that "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is not only the worst game in the franchise's history, but it may very well be the worst game to be released this year."
Fans can only hope Activision will fix issues in the game so that gamers return to playing it without any glitches.
