Tom Cruise's Ex-wife Katie Holmes Not Dating 'How I Met Your Mother' Star Jason Segel, Says Actress' Rep

Katie Holmes' rep Leslie Sloane has played down the Jason Segel dating rumors. 

"The story is completely untrue. The two have not spoken since she appeared on How I Met Your Mother," The Sun quoted Sloane telling Us Weekly, putting the speculations to rest.

A few weeks ago reports swirled that Holmes is dating Segel. The two had met for the first time on the sets of "HIMYM", when Holmes did a guest appearance on the show, back in 2011.

Regarding their speculated romance, a source told the US edition of Star magazine: "They're having a great time together. He's eager to start a family," quoted Belfast Telegraph UK 

It was even stated that Segel had developed a strong bond with Holmes' eight-year-old daughter Suri.

Before being linked to Segel, Holmes was understood to be in a relationship with Jamie Foxx. Meanwhile, Segel was rumored to be on the verge of walking the aisle with Michelle Williams. 

Regarding his relationship with Williams, Segel had once told the US TV show Extra: "I think we would just very much like to be happy. That's all I'm going to say about it."

However, things reportedly fell out between Segel and Williams due to long distance.

"They've "quietly split" as Michelle lives in New York with her daughter Matilda and Jason is based in LA, meaning they see very little of each other while they're working," the source told Us Weekly as reported by Look magazine.

Currently, Segel is busy promoting his latest film "Sex Tape" with Cameron Diaz, while Holmes is all set to make her return to TV through a new, untitled high society drama. She will be seen playing a strong and educated woman in the series. Tom Cruise's ex-wife will also be seen alongside Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges and Taylor Swift in "The Giver", which is set to hit the screens on 15 August.
