Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM took its fans by surprise at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show by unveiling two new offerings – KTM RC 250 and KTM 250 Duke.
The new duo RC 250 and 250 Duke, which look just as cool as KTM's other Duke and RC offerings, will be making their debut in Japan in June this year, with a price tag of ¥ 620,000 and ¥ 620,000 respectively, according to Response.jp via Indian Autos Blog.
As for engine, KTM RC 250 and KTM 250 Duke are expected to get the downsized version of 373 cc engine, which does duty in 390 versions. The engine can generate 31 hp of power at 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm currently.
Some of the features of KTM 200 and 390 are also expected to be found in the new 250s.
The models will go into production at Bajaj's Chakan plant and it is not clear whether RC 250 and 250 Duke will make their way in the Indian market. Considering the current market scenario, KTM is unlikely to bring the new 250 duo to the Indian market.
Meanwhile, in another development, rumours have hit the web that KTM is planning to launch its superbike 1290 Super Duke R in India by the end of this year. If this rings true, bike lovers in the country will get a chance to swing their legs on a powerful stylish KTM machine, which is powered by a 1301cc two-cylinder four-stroke engine that can comfortably churn out a power of 177bhp.
