Fans have been waiting impatiently for Season 3 of "Tokyo Ghoul" anime though there is still some conflicting information about the show. Meanwhile, the live-action adaptation of "Tokyo Ghoul" has already hired the main actors and is expected to premiere in the summer of 2017.

Although there is no official confirmation yet, many blogs suggest that Madhouse, which has taken over the reins for "Tokyo Ghoul" from Studio Perriot, is expected to release the new season by winter of 2016. They also suggested that Madhouse will continue with the original manga storyline that the anime has been following since Season 1.

Judging by this, the next installment of the anime will focus on Touka Kirishima's story, starting with her decision to take up higher studies. As we have reported earlier, Touka has to choose between Kamii University, To-Oh University and Duke University. The one reason that has her leaning towards Kamii University is to be with Kaneki.

Meanwhile, the live-action movie of "Tokyo Ghoul" is being developed at a fast pace and has hired all the major cast members. It is understood that 27-year-old Masataka Kubota will bring Kaneki to life, while 21-year-old Fumika Shimizu will portray Touka. The two actors will be joined by Yu Aoi, who will play Rize Kamishiro; Nobuyuki Suzuki as Kōtarō Amon; and Yo Oizumi as Kureo Mado.
