Bollywood celebs are set to grace the Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) 2016 March 18 at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai Sports City. Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and many bigwigs from the film industry will reportedly attend the event.
Salman has been nominated in the best actor category for his film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" that released last year, while Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" has bagged maximum nominations -- best film, best actor and best director -- according to Press Trust of India.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who are busy shooting for their respective films in Paris and Toronto, might not attend the ceremony. However, this time also there are chances that "Bajirao Mastani" may receive the maximum awards, followed by "Piku" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan."
Salman, who was nominated at all award ceremonies this year for his work in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," said at Zee Cine Awards that he wants to be out of the award race. "I say delete me from the competition. We are here since long, we have been nominated... I can come and perform, attend the award shows but I think now young generation should be given a chance to win awards," PTI quoted Salman as saying.
Meanwhile, Bollywood celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Yo Yo Honey Singh will perform at TOIFA Awards 2016. There has been no confirmation whether Salman will perform at the event or not. Earlier, there were reports that Shah Rukh Khan might also perform at the award ceremony.
The first edition of TOIFA was held in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2013.
