The Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) 2016 will be telecast on Sony Entertainment Television on Sunday, April 17. Shah Rukh Khan's energetic act to "Jabra Fan" and Ranveer Singh's crackling tribute to Amitabh Bachchan are two of the treats viewers can look forward to.
The lavish ceremony was held on March 18 in Dubai Sports City and attended by Bollywood's best. Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez were some of the guests of the night. Parineeti Chopra and Riteish Deshmukh were hosting the show.
The awards night was generously sprinkled by powerhouse acts by Salman, Kareena, Varun and others. While Salman entered the scene in style in a luxury car, "Ki and Ka" actress grooved to yesteryear numbers.
Winners of the night: "Bajirao Mastani" walked away with as many as nine awards, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" and "Piku won two each. "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" fetched its lead actress, Bhumi Pednekar, the Best Debut (Female) award.
Papon and Varun Grover picked up trophies for Best Playback Singer (Male) and Best Lyricist, respectively, for "Moh Moh Ke Dhaage." ("Dum Laga Ke Haisha"). "Dil Dhadakne Do," "Talvar" and "Badlapur" are some of the other films that were celebrated that night.
