The no-confidence motion moved by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) against the ruling UPA-2 was rejected in the Lok Sabha on Thursday as the party failed to garner support of 50 MPs.
The motion moved by the party got support of 2-3 BJD members apart from its own 18 MPs.
The TMC had handed over the non-confidence motion, despite the fact that it lacks numbers in the House.
TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, who is opposing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), by tooth and nail has asked all her MPs except Kabir Suman to be present in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, First Post reported quoting sources.
