Respawn Entertainment, the developer of Titanfall has announced that it has activated its new anticheat system, the FairFight Cheat system for PC.
The enforcement of the anticheat system will now ban players who are cheating in Titanfall, but will not ban them from playing the game, it will however pit one cheater against the other in matches. It said in its post that this setup resembles "the Wimbledon of aimbot contest."
Since the launch of the game, Respawn has been "collecting data" on players making use of cheats in the game. The company made its revelation in early March that it was tracking players who were making use of third-party devices like "aimbots," "wallhacks" and other such cheats that will help the player gain unfair advantage.
Respawn has been banning players who have been cheating in the game from 21 March. Players who have been banned will come to know when they check their Private Lobby screen, where players who have been banned by the developer will get notification saying "FairFight Cheat Detected" in red.
"You can play with other banned players in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests. Hopefully the aimbot cheat you paid for really is the best, or these all-cheater matches could be frustrating for you," said the developer in the post.
If players have a banned player in the party, then the whole party will be treated as banned, but for only that particular "play session." Players who invite cheaters to the party will have to face other cheaters in the game. But once the player (a non-cheater) stops inviting the cheater, he will be allowed to join the non-cheater players of Titanfall.
The post also clarifies that the players who have been banned by mistake can contact anticheat@respawn.com
Titanfall uses GameBlocks' FairFight, server-side anticheating software that has been designed to identify the cheater in real time.
Game Modes to be Free in Future
Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn has said that all the game modes will be free in the future and will not be part of any DLC.
