Tata Group's lifestyle and jewellery company Titan, Gitanjali Gems and PC Jeweller were trading with modest gains on Monday. The three jewellery companies figured in the list of the world's top 50 luxury brands in the fourth annual Global Powers of Luxury Goods report.
Gitanjali Gems came at 30th, followed by Titan at 31st position and PC Jeweller at 44th, according to news agency PTI. Louis Vuitton (LVMH Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton SA ) topped the list followed by Compaigne Financiere Richemont SA (Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Montblanc, Chloe), and The Estee Lauder Companies Inc (Estee Lauder, M.A.C., Aramis, Clinique, Aveda, Jo Malone).
Titan — that sells jewellery under Tanishq brand — was trading 1.68 percent higher at Rs 479, PC Jeweller was up 0.87 percent at Rs 454 and Gitanjali Gems was almost flat at Rs 66 on the BSE at around 12.40 pm on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Last week, the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Council deferred the finalisation of tax on gold to its June 3 meeting.
The Sensex was up 109 points at 30,574, led by ITC, Tata Motors and Adani Ports.
