The sequel of "Student Of The Year" is a much-talked-about project, as reports suggested that Karan Johar would launch yet another set of budding actors with the second instalment. However, it is two-films old Tiger Shroff who has bagged the movie.
Tiger, who has worked only with producer Sajid Nadiadwala until now, will collaborate with Karan for the first time for the sequel of "Student Of The Year." Karan and Tiger met to discuss the project and the duo will soon start working on the film.
There were reports that Karan would launch new faces with the second instalment and names of Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khattar, Saif Ali Khan's son Ibrahim Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan emerged for the lead actors role, while Sridevi's daughter Jahnavi Kapoor's name emerged for the leading actress' role. But Tiger Shroff bagged the lead actor's role, while the female lead is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, the sequel is said to be a solo-actor's film unlike the first instalment, which launched Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.
"The first SOTY film was a love triangle set on a college campus, but the second won't have another leading man. It's a solo-hero film," Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying. "Karan has always been a Jackie Shroff fan. Working with his son is something he wanted to do from the time Tiger was ready to make his debut," the source said.

Interestingly, Varun was launched by Karan and now he has collaborated with Sajid for "Dishoom." Tiger, on the other hand, was launched by Sajid in "Heropanti" and now he will work with Karan in the sequel of "Students Of The Year."
