In yet another shocking incident, a three-year-old girl was raped in the bathroom of a playschool by the owner's husband in Delhi. The police arrested the accused on Thursday.
The owner of the playschool, Poonam, was arrested on the grounds of negligence on Friday.
The victim was assaulted on Monday but the reports came a day after when the child got ill and her family took her to a doctor, who confirmed she had been raped.
Pramod Malik, 35, who reportedly holds a senior rank in a research institute, had sedated the kid before assaulting her.
The parents of the victim stated that she was raped along with two or three playschool mates.
"My daughter told the police and the magistrate that Malik drugged and raped her friends as well in a bathroom on Monday morning," the victim's mother told Hindustan Times.
The child is reportedly in a state of shock and got hysterical upon encountering Malik in the police station, where she was called to identify him.
Meanwhile, the playschool owned by Poonam located in Sagarpur, southwest Delhi, has been locked-up following the intervention of the Delhi Health and Family Minister Kiran Walia.
PTI reported that Walia has asked the doctors of Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital to provide utmost medical care to the victim. She also insisted that the child psychologist of the hospital submit a regular report to the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child's Right (DCPCR) and the Child Welfare Committee on the well-being of the child.
The police will reportedly talk to other kids of the playschool to investigate if there are more victims of assault.
Earlier this week, a 23-year-old para-medical student was brutally gangraped in a moving bus in New Delhi.
