Three Indian Navy personnel and an employee of the Indian Army's Military Engineer Services (MES) were booked for allegedly molesting and raping a minor girl, IANS reported on Monday quoting a defence spokesperson.
While two sailors have already been handed over and arrested by the Mumbai police for investigation, the third who is presently out of the city on duty has been recalled and ordered to return to face the law.
The fourth accused--the MES employee--has also been arrested.
The move follows a complaint by the girl's father who named the four as accused in his FIR on Sunday alleging they molested and raped his minor daughter over the past few months.
The INS Kunjali's Naval Provost Marshal and the Western Naval Command are extending full cooperation to police for investigating the matter.
"This is absolutely unacceptable and we have shown no leniency. We immediately informed police and handed over the accused," an official said according to IANS.
