In a shocking incident, three minor girls were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their house in east Delhi's Mandawali on Tuesday, Delhi Police said. According to reports, they had no food for the past three days and died due to starvation.
They were taken to a hospital on Tuesday, where they were declared brought dead. Notably, the deceased were aged two, four, and eight, respectively.
The police said that the girls were rushed to the hospital by their mother at 1 pm, and the administration of the hospital informed them.
Doctors to conduct re-examination
During the initial investigation, the police denied any foul play as no injury marks were found on the bodies. Police stated that though it seemed to be a case of natural death, they would send the bodies for re-examination to know if they were poisoned.
Their father used to work as a rickshaw-puller but was unemployed after the theft of his rickshaw. The financial condition of the family had deteriorated in the recent months.
A team of doctors would conduct a re-examination of the bodies at the GTB hospital, said Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).
A forensic team found some medicines, bottles and pills from a place where the family was staying.
