Over the weekend, Marvel announced new cast members for the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok" and we must say that the film now looks like a pretty star-studded affair.
It will feature Cate Blanchett as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as classic hero Valkyrie and Karl Urban as Skurge. They will join Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and other returning cast members in what is expected to be the final film in the "Thor" franchise.
"The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet," said producer Kevin Feige in a statement.
"The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can't be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible."
The new cast member, Urban, who will next be seen on the big screen in "Star Trek: Beyond," said during a recent interview with Stuff, that he is excited to be joining the cast of the Taika Waititi-helmed "Thor: Ragnarok." The Kiwi actor said that he is looking forward to working with one of the "most brilliant directors to come out of New Zealand in a long time".
"It's a fantastic story and a really great character who has got a wonderful arc. I'm super excited to play it and be a part of the Marvel family." The shooting of the third Thor movie is scheduled to begin in Australia's Gold Coast in June. The film is slated to be released on Nov. 3, 2017.
