"Thor: Ragnarok" release might be a couple of years away, but fans are hoping to get a sneak-peak of what can be expected from the third installation of the franchise. Marvel, DC and many other franchises tend to premiere their trailers with a big bang, generally at Comic-Con events, and therefore, the 2015 SDCC is widely anticipated by "Thor" fans.
However, it turns out that Marvel won't even be attending the San Diego Comic-Con 2015, so there is not even a minor possibility of the trailer getting released at the Convention Centre on 8 July.
In March, during a fans' interview on his Facebook page, James Gunn, who has directed many Marvel films, including the recent "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy 2", revealed that Marvel will not be attending the SDCC 2015.
In reply to fan Stephania Besco's question regarding his attendance at San Diego Comic-Con, he replied, "I'm not sure. Marvel isn't going so I'm not sure I will either."
Marvel Studios has been enjoying great publicity since the end of last year, and they can afford to not compete for attention at the Comic Con. Whether or not fans are reminded, they are impatiently anticipating for all the Marvel movies including "Ant-Man" (17 July 2015), "Captain America: Civil War" (6 May, 2016), "Dr Strange" (4 November, 2016), "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" (5 May 2017), the untitled "Spider-Man" movie (28 July 2017) and "Thor: Ragnarok" (3 November 2017).
The cast of the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok" film will definitely have Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston reprising their roles as Thor and Loki respectively. Meanwhile, Kevin Feige will be returning to produce the "Thor 3" movie, for which Craigg Kyle and Christopher Yost will be writing the screenplay.
