A slap-gate and a few rehab visits later, Yo Yo Honey Singh resurfaced at the Zee Cine Awards 2016. The appearance immediately triggered news of him making a comeback with a song in Salman Khan's "Sultan." Turns out, he's not ready for it yet.
"He is disoriented, disconnected from the entertainment industry. Something happened to him two years ago that broke his spirit. He isn't coming back yet," the rapper-musician's former buddy told Deccan Chronicle.
"The reports that Yo Yo Honey Singh will sing a song for Salman in 'Sultan' are completely false. There is no desire from Yo Yo's side to return. Nor is the entertainment industry inclined to take him back as yet," an insider further added.
What exactly "broke" his spirit or made him go into hiding for two whole years is hard to comprehend, and the guessing game got a tad difficult after he trashed rumours of a major fall-out with Shah Rukh Khan during the SLAM! The Tour! concert. "I haven't fought with anyone. I was just chilling, resting, working out," BollywoodLife quoted Honey as saying.
SRK and Honey will be coming together for TOIFA 2016. The two stars along with other industry A-listers will put up acts and deliver performances that are sure to set the stage on fire. To be held in Dubai on March 18, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez are some of the names who are a part of the show.
In other news, Honey had been putting out shoddy work for quite some time and some of his songs didn't do as well as they should have. But it appears he's picking up pace. "High Heels" song from "Ki and Ka" is going viral and has already garnered close to two million hits on YouTube.
