Jake Gyllenhaal, who is ready to hit the screens with his upcoming Hollywood flick "Southpaw", was supposed to make a visit to India but he had to cancel his trip owing to hectic schedule.
Apparently, Gyllenhaal was keen to visit India for the promotion of "Southpaw" as he wants everyone to watch the film. However, his busy schedule back home made him drop his plans to fly down to India. Nevertheless, the actor made good arrangements to promote the film through Indian media.
Recently, a special screening of "Southpaw" took place in Mumbai, which was attended by Madhu Mantena, Prakriti Kakkar, Akriti Kakkar, Sukriti Kakkar, Fahad Samar and Arman Malik.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, "Southpaw" will present Jake Gyllenhaal as boxer Billy Hope and apparently, Jake worked very hard to prepare himself for the role.
The story of "Southpaw" revolves around the life of Billy, who retires from the ring due to pressure from his wife at a time when he was at the peak of his career. One of his contemporary boxers instigates him and they get into a brawl which leaves Billy's wife dead and he becomes a drug addict.
"Southpaw" shows how Billy gets the chance to take his revenge and bring his life back on track.
Apart from Jake Gyllenhaal, the movie also includes Forest Whitaker and Rachel McAdams. The film is set to release on 31 July.
