Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty have done two films so far — "Chennai Express" (2013) and "Dilwale" (2015). While the former was a massive hit, the latter was saved by the skin of its teeth.
They were supposed to reunite for a third film, but as far as the rumours go, that possibility is out of the picture now. An insider told the Hindustan Times that SRK and Rohit have held each other responsible for the debacle of their last venture together, which is why they are not going to come together for a project anymore.
"Rohit feels Shah Rukh made a big mistake releasing Dilwale on the same Friday as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani. Shah Rukh feels Rohit didn't work hard enough on Dilwale. The parting has not been amicable," the source further elaborated.
Here's what they are doing now
Shah Rukh has begun social media promotions of his next, "Dear Zindagi." Directed by Gauri Shinde, the film doesn't have him as the lead, but he does play an important part in it — life coach to Alia Bhatt's character.
In August, he begins Imtiaz Ali's as-yet-untitled film with Anushka Sharma. It is apparently a cute love story and both the actors are thrilled about reuniting for their third film after "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan."
As per Rohit, he is busy scripting "Golmaal 4." Starring Ajay Devgn, the film is expected to roll sometime in November. Kareena Kapoor Khan was apparently approached for the fourth instalment, but she had to let go as she is planning on taking a maternity break around the time.
