The news of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif teaming up for Rajkumar Santoshi's film has been around for quite some time now. Recent reports claim there's a very obvious reason why they are being considered for the project.
They are much-loved pair and their chemistry is on-point. "Talks are on to sign Katrina as the romantic lead opposite Salman. The leading lady's role is not very big though. They are a much-loved pair and their magic on screen is evident from Partner to ETT. Santoshi's film is being produced by Salman's sister Alvira, who is also one of Kat's closest friends. She had done a song for her last film, Bodyguard," a source told DNA.
Earlier this month, there were reports tthat he filmmaker, for who the onscreen pair is reuniting, doesn't want to take any risks because his last film, "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero," didn't quite light up the box office.
While the idea of Salman and Katrina coming together for a film is exciting, an Absolute India report may completely dampen the thrill. The piece claims that Abhishek Bachchan has replaced the superstar owing to his jam-packed schedule.
"The actor who has just wrapped up Sultan's shoot has already signed Kabir Khan's next project. The actor will soon be busy with the promotions of 'Sultan' after which he will start shooting for Kabir Khan's next film. Hence, thus has left Salman with no time for Rajkumar Santoshi's film which is supposed to go on floors this year," an insider informed the daily.
If Salman manages to come on board for Rajkumar's next, they'll be reuniting after a gap of 22 years. Their last film together was "Andaaz Apna Apna" (1994).
