Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently made her comeback to the big screen with director Sanjay Gupta's "Jazbaa" and it seems the movie's subject line and star cast influenced her decision to accept the film.
In a recent interview with DNA, Aishwarya was asked why she preferred Sanjay Gupta's "Jazbaa" as her first film post her motherhood, when she could have chosen any Karan Johar or Aditya Chopra's big banner movie.
The actress said she chose "Jazbaa" for the film's subject and also for the cast which included stars like Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi.
"It's a subject that actors would gravitate towards and would be happy to do. One would be interested in working with the co-actors like Irrfan Khan, Atul Kulkarni, Roy Sanyal and Shabana Azmi, that I was getting the opportunity to work with. To work with a team of actors in a narrative like this, you know that there's going to be an incredible commitment and integrity every day," Aishwarya said.
"That's fun and inspiring. You know me long enough and you know what I look for. I would grab an opportunity like this. I see work, which can be creatively satisfying every day, and that happened with 'Jazbaa'. To do this with Sanjay Gupta was a unique, exciting and intriguing combination. It's nice to be curious and be surprised because one didn't know how this combination was going to eventually roll out. 'Jazbaa' is not a predictable narrative. About the mother bit, I knew we were shooting in Mumbai, that's all I considered," the "Jazbaa" actress added.
Aishwarya will next be seen in Karan Johar's upcoming movie "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" which will also feature Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
