With "Naagin" nearing its end, producer Ekta Kapoor is gearing up for her next venture, "Kavach," which has Mona Singh, Vivek Dahiya and Maheck Chahal in key roles. While viewers have been eagerly waiting for the new show ever since the promo was released, latest reports reveal that "Kavach" will go on air at 8 p.m. from June 11 onwards.
The show will replace the Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani-starrer "Naagin," which was supposed to go off air in May but got an extension for another month owing to its popularity.
"Kavach" has been making a lot of buzz as it will see popular actress Mona and Vivek of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" fame sharing screen space for the first time. The show is a finite series and will revolve around Mona's character, who goes to any extent to protect her husband from the spirit of his ex-lover.
The promo of "Kavach," which was out over a month ago, looked gripping enough. Talking about shooting for the show, Vivek told Bollywood Life: "I am having a blast shooting for the show. The team is fabulous. The director of this show is brilliant and it's shaping up very well."
Maheck, who will be making her debut in a fiction series with the show, had told India Forums that she plays a parallel lead role alongside Mona and Vivek. "The story revolves around three of our characters. I am so excited to be a part of the show as this role is an envying one for many. I know, this is my first ever fiction show. But, the sheer nature of the role was so alluring, where in today's date, though there are many female characters, not everyone gets to play such a role. It's a multi-layered role which will sport negative as well as positive shades," Maheck had said.
Meanwhile, "Naagin" will return with a new season by the end of the year.
