The romantic entertainer, Premam, is one of the most loved movies in Malayalam and is being well-accepted by people in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Alphonse Puthren-directorial that narrates three love stories of Nivin Pauly's character, George, during his school days, college days and later period, has been tagged as the best realistic entertainer in the recent times.
Alphonse's debut directorial venture Neram, starring Nivin and Nazriya in the lead roles, also opened to positive response from the audience. Now, a video that has started doing the rounds on social media hints that the incidents that happen during the college days in Premam, featuring Nivin and Sai Pallavi, have been "copied" from Alphonse's previous bilingual black comedy-thriller, released in 2013.
In the video, which has been edited by Tom Bijoy, Shammy Thilakan's character in Neram is seen speaking to few prisoners about his lost love along with the visuals of Premam. The 47-second video, shared on the Facebook page of V4 Media, has been gaining quite a lot of attention from netizens for finding the similarity in the short story narrated in Neram with the second part of Alphonse's Premam. It has been viewed more than 3.5 lakh times, at the time of reporting. Actor Shammy has also shared the video on his Facebook page appreciating the one who made it.
After making tremendous box office business from worldwide box office with the movie completing a historic run of more than 230 days at the Chennai box office alone, Premam has been remade in Telugu with the same name. The Telugu version, starring Naga Chaitanya, Shruti Haasan, Anupama Parameshwaran and Madonna Sebastian, has been accepted by the Tollywood audience, but it received negative response from others, who claim that it cannot meet the standards of the original movie.
