If you haven't already become a fan of Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off," here is another reason why you should be grooving to the peppy number.
Mash up specialists at The Hood Internet combined Swift's "Shake It Off" with rapper Kendrick Lamar's "Backstreet Freestyle" and created a masterpiece that is addictive.
But why would anybody put together two completely disparate songs and genres out of the blue? Here is some history.
It all started off with Taylor Swift celebrating the success of her latest album "1989", posting an adorable video of her lip syncing to Lamar's "Backstreet Freestyle." In fact, she also admitted to Rolling Stone that the song was her go-to jam tune and the song makes her "immediately go from feeling victimized to feeling awesome."
But the adoration didn't go unnoticed by Lamar. He acknowledged Swift's shout out in the Rolling Stone interview and told The Fader that he was great fan of her music.
"Shout out to Taylor Swift. You can't put great music in different genres. I enjoy great music outside of my own music all the time, so I definitely can see where she's coming from when she says that she listens to the record, and it's a great thing for her to acknowledge that and put that good energy out into the world like that," he said before breaking into an impromptu performance of Swift's numero uno single from "1989."
He also rapped to "Shake It Off" at a recent stint on a Dallas radio show.
So considering all the love, it was only fair that someone made a mash-up of two of the most popular songs.
Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off" goes with probably everything. Recently, a YouTube user mixed up an eighties video of the National Aerobics Championship with the single and the near-perfect video went viral on the internet.
