Recently, there was an article about Deepika Padukone hiking her fee and becoming the highest paid Bollywood actress. According to the article, Deepika is charging approximately Rs. 12 crore for the period drama "Padmavati."
Now another report suggests that "Padmavati" director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is not happy with the news that has been doing the rounds. The director is not known for revealing information about his upcoming films and thus the details of Deepika's signing amount for "Padmavati" has not gone down too well with Sanjay.
Sanjay has asked Deepika to remain tight-lipped about the film's remuneration, Deccan Chronicle reports.
The report of "Deepika hiking her remuneration" for "Padmavati" was first published in BollywoodLife. The entertainment portal reported that Deepika has left behind Kangana Ranaut to become the highest paid Bollywood actress, as she has charged somewhere Rs. 11-12 crore for the film.
Interestingly, Deepika who first worked with Sanjay in "Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela" charged only Rs. 1 crore for the film and in just two years she hiked her fees to Rs. 11-12 crore. Though there has been no official word on the same, it is still interesting to know that she is giving a tough competition to actress and actors.
Meanwhile, "Padmavati" is Sanjay's another ambitious project that will go on floors in September. Sanjay has reportedly roped in Ranveer Singh and Deepika for the lead roles, but the director is yet to finalize the second male lead, who will play Deepika's husband role in "Padmavati."
