Salman Khan was to promote "Sultan" on "The Kapil Sharma Show" and the shoot had been scheduled for June 17. Strangely, it was cancelled at the last moment triggering speculations that it had to do with the superstar's association with another channel that is stopping him from promoting his next on Kapil Sharma's comedy show.
A SpotboyE report has it that the "Sultan" actor will shoot for episode and will also be joined by co-star Anushka Sharma. Apparently, it was producer Aditya Chopra's decision who has returned from Paris after wrapping up "Befikre" with Ranveer Singh. The Yash Raj Films head honcho reportedly thought it wise to not skip Kapil's show as it is immensely popular.
Meanwhile, there has been news of Salman cutting down on promotional activities. His controversial rape remark has kicked up a storm on social media and it's not looking good for the star. Even though trade analysts believe that the comment will not affect the trade of "Sultan," but it's still tainting his image.
The "Sultan" cast were scheduled to fly to cities to promote their film, but the tour has now been shortened, reported Mid-Day. However, the film's spokesperson told the leading daily: "We have been shooting for reality shows, which was always part of the schedule, and that is what team Sultan is busy with. Nothing has changed."
"Sultan" is scheduled to be out on July 6 and stars Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh in key roles. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the sports-drama film focuses on wrestling champion Sultan Ali Khan and his battles both inside and outside of the ring.
