Ilayathalapathy Vijay-starrer "Theri" has continued to do well at overseas centres. The Tamil movie has done good business in North America, Malaysia, the U.K., Australia and France, and has ended its 11-day overseas collection at Rs. 41.85 crore ($6.25 million).
In the U.S., "Theri" has earned $41,670 from 67 screens in its second weekend to take its 11-day total to $715,378 (Rs 4.76 crore), Tamilboxoffice1 reported. The Vijay-starrer had minted $643,353 (Rs. 4.28 crore) in its first weekend from 145 screens.
Canada has turned out to be a successful market for "Theri" as it has earned $395,155 (Rs. 2.08 crore) from this region in 11 days. In the first weekend, the Tamil flick had collected $279,435 (Rs. 1.45 crore) from this centre.
Indeed, the Vijay-starrer has displayed the true potential for Tamil films in this region by making fantastic business. Till date, only a few Rajinikanth's films and Vikram's "I" had made good collections in this part of the world.
The total collection of "Theri" from North America (U.S.+ Canada) stands at $1,110,533 (Rs. 7.41 crore). It is the best performance by a Vijay movie so far in this centre.
"Theri" has performed well in Malaysia where it has collected MYR 5,021,360 (Rs. 8.56 crore). The Tamil film had earned MYR 3,023,041 (Rs. 5.15 crore) in its first weekend.
The Atlee Kumar directorial has raked in £376,489 (Rs 3.62 crore) in 11 days at the U.K. box office, thereby breaking the Vijay's previous best of £333,522 (Rs. 3.22 crore), made by "Kaththi" in this centre. The latest Tamil film had collected £280,696 (Rs. 2.67 crore) in its first weekend.
In the Australian box office, "Theri" has collected A$ 377,617 (Rs 1.94 crore) after doing A$ 305,807 (Rs. 1.56 crore) in its opening weekend. It has turned out to be the biggest Tamil hit in this centre.
"Theri" has earned NZ$23,950 (Rs 10.95 lakh) in 11 days at the New Zealand box office. It had collected NZ$18,807 (Rs 8.68 lakh) in its first weekend.
Vijay's film has collected $32,022 (Rs 21.32 lakh) in 11 days in Norway, while it raked in €278,803 (Rs 2.08 crore) in France. The estimated collection of "Theri" from rest of the world stands at $2.70 million (Rs. 17.96 crore).
