Atlee Kumar seems to be getting ready to work with a star again. After collaborating with Vijay in the forthcoming film "Theri," the young filmmaker is now in talks with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu for an action movie.
A source has told the Times of India that Atlee Kumar recently met Mahesh Babu on the sets of the actor's forthcoming movie, "Brahmotsavam," and the Prince of Tollywood was impressed with the director's one-line story.
"Mahesh has wanted to collaborate with Atlee for quite a while now. The director, who was recently in Hyderabad, met Mahesh on the sets of Brahmotsavam, where he narrated a story idea. Mahesh expressed interest in the project and asked Atlee to develop it into a script," the daily reports.
The source further adds that the proposed project will be a high-voltage action movie. It is reported that Atlee Kumar got several offers from Tollywood following the success of his debut movie "Raja Rani." But the director was keen to complete "Theri" before moving on to his next project.
Atlee Kumar's "Theri" features Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Samantha and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. It is an action-thriller, which has been dubbed into Telugu as "Policeodu." While the Tamil version will hit theatres April 14, the Telugu version will be out a day later.
"Theri" will be released worldwide in over 1,200 screens. Advance booking of the tickets, which was started a few days ago, has met with stupendous response from cine-goers.
On the other hand, Mahesh Babu is fully occupied with "Brahmotsavam," written and directed by Srikanth Addala. Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Pranitha Subhash are playing female leads in the upcoming multilingual movie. It will hit the screens May.
