Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi whose bezel-less Mi Mix recently became the cynosure of all eyes, was recently rumoured to launch a non-curved Mi Note 2 variant in addition to the recently released dual-edged curved Mi Note 2 edition. Now, if latest reports are anything to go by, then the flat-screen Mi Note 2 would not be released at all, thereby disappointing loyalists.
Now, the conventional flat-screen edition of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (purported) was in fact expected to be a budget offering. However, as per a XiaomiToday report that quotes Zang Zhiyuan who is the director of Marketing at Xiaomi, there would be no Mi Note 2 flat-screen edition. The dual-edged curved screen phone would be the only option for loyalists across the world.
XiaomiToday, in turn quoting MyDrivers (translated) trashes all earlier rumours that had hinted at the existence of the flat-screen Mi Note 2 and its impending release. With this update, albeit unofficial, Xiaomi loyalists now have only the dual-edged curved screen edition of the Mi Note 2 to use.
For starters, the current Xiaomi Mi Note offers key technical specifications such as:
- 5.7-inch AMOLED dual curved-edge display having resolution of 1080 X 1920 with resolution of 386 ppi
- Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box
- Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC
- 22.5 MP rear camera
- 8 MP front snapper
- 4/6 GB RAM
- 64/128 GB fixed internal storage variants
- LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C connectivity
- 4070 mAh fixed Lithium-Ion battery.
