The first look of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan in Baz Luhrmann's directed movie "The Great Gatsby" has been released.
The trailer of the epic movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio has finally made its debut online.
The movie featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan, is the adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel and follows the story of a Midwestern man (played by Maguire) who gets inevitably drawn towards the life of his interesting and attractive neighbour, Gatsby (played by DiCaprio).
The film also features Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan in a guest appearance whose first look in his debut Hollywood film is out. But according to reports, Bachchan's role in the movie is very short. However, the 69-year-old is delighted about working with Hollywood biggies Leonardo Di Caprio and Tobey Maguire.
"I still do not have the liberty to talk of the film in a personal capacity. Contracts bind me, but this I can say that it was a sheer delight to work with someone of such great genius as Baz Luhrmann and a host of co-stars that have astronomical presence in the world of cinema - Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire and the other greats," Bachchan posted on his blog.
"And everyone works as a family and a large portion of this attitude should be credited to the master of the scenario, the director Baz Luhrmann," he added.
In the photo of the movie released by Warner Bros, the Big B looks elegant in a grey colored suit with a white round-shaped hat and has sported a moustache and beard. In the film, Bachchan plays a role of Jewish money lender Meyer Wolfshiem and can be seen in photo sitting with DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire.
"The attention to detail, the amount of research and finesse on recreating the 'times' of NYC in the early years, was simply brilliant. I am certain that when you shall see the film, you will realize that you have indeed been transported to another decade of the early years with such authenticity that you begin to feel as though you were present there yourself. That really is the beauty of cinema and its technique," Bachchan wrote.
Bachchan also appreciated the professionalism and dedication of the Hollywood filmmakers towards their work.
"There is a quiet sense of professionalism that works without notice and corrects or adjusts or informs when and if there is need for it. They are the crew, the costume, the hair and the properties people. The language, the accent director and the assistant who comes and ask you to be on set. All done with such gentle ethics, you wonder if you actually deserve this or not," he wrote.
"The other factor of course is the dedication that all the crew and actors have towards the script the film and the production. Leonardo and Tobey would be more than willing to rehearse if you demanded it and would give each rehearsal the same deliverance as they would, were they to be asking for one themselves," he added.
