The dates for the release of The Elder Scrolls Online have been announced by Bethesda Softworks which rules out any simultaneous release across platforms.

The Elder Scrolls Online will release on 4 April 2014 for PC and Mac. The release for next-generation consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have been slated for June 2014.

ZeniMax Online Studios are the game developers for The Elder Scrolls Online. The Studio also released 'War in Cyrodiil' a gameplay trailer with the announcement of the release dates. The trailer highlights the player-versus-player (PvP) system that allows numerous players to fight opposite each other. This will make it look like the war scenes from the medieval times. The battles will be inclusive of both small skirmishes and bigger battles. Players will be playing from any of the three factions, all fighting for the precious Ruby Throne.

The three factions are:

1. The Aldmeri Dominion which has Altmer (High elf), Bosmer (Wood elf) and Khajiit. Its sigil is eagle.

2. The Daggerfall Covenant has Bretons, Redguards and Orsimer (Orcs). Its sigil is lion.

3. The Ebonheart Pact has Nords, Dunmer (Dark elf) and Argonians. Its sigil is dragon.

Tamriel is the setting for The Elder Scrolls Online and happens a thousand years earlier than the events of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

The game was originally announced in May 2012. The game will cost $59.99 on all devices. There is also a monthly subscription of $14.99 if they have to continue their play after the first month ends.
