Actor Ram Charan Teja, who is currently busy with the shooting of "Bruce Lee", is reportedly interested to play the lead role in the Telugu remake of Jayam Ravi's hit Tamil film, "Thani Oruvan".
The buzz in the film nagar is that Teja is impressed with the story of "Thani Oruvan" and has expressed his wish to play the hero in the remake. A Tollywood filmmaker is said to be in talks with the producers of the Tamil film for its rights.
"Charan loved the film. He's so excited to work in the remake, but nothing has been finalised yet. The talks for the Telugu remake rights are still going on. Charan hopes to work in the project if approached by a suitable director," a source close to Ram Charan told IANS.
Thani Oruvan is an action thriller film, which has been written by Mohan Raja and Subha. The movie revolves around a passionate police officer, who sets out to destroy the most corrupt person in the country. Though the movie deals with a routine storyline, its amazing screenplay has been the key for its success.
Jayam Ravi plays the role of the IPS officer in "Thani Oruvan", while Nayan appears as his love interest. The movie features an ensemble cast of Aravind Swamy, Ganesh Venkatraman, Vamsi Krishna, Rahul Madhav, Nassar, Harish, Sricharan, Abhinaya and Mugdha Godse. Hiphop Tamizha composed the music, while Ramji handled the cinematography.
Released in theatres on 28 August, "Thani Oruvan" has been successful in impressing critics and film goers across the globe. The movie collected Rs 30+ crore at the worldwide box office in the first week. It has become one of the biggest Kollywood money spinners of 2015.
