Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swamy starrer "Thani Oruvan" has reached a milestone! The Tamil movie has completied 50 days at theatres on Friday, 16 October.
"Thani Oruvan" was released on 28 August with decent expectations. The major attraction was the comeback of Jayam Raja after four years. His last movie was "Velayudham" starring Vijay, Genelia and Hansika Motwani.
Jayam Raja, who is known for remake films, came up with a fresh story. While the narration stunned the audience, the performance of Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swamy won laurels, not to forget, Nayantara's role in the success.
As a result, "Thani Oruvan" turned out to become one of the biggest hits of 2015. In 10 days alone, it grossed Rs 40 crore. The worldwide collection of the movie has crossed over Rs 105 crore, say reports.
"Thani Oruvan" goes to other languages
Successful south movies have always caught the attention of Bollywood. "Thani Oruvan" is the latest movie likely to be remade in Hindi. It is speculated that Salman Khan's production house has acquired the rights after watching the movie.
Salman Khan is likely to star in the Hindi remake. The movie is likely to start in late 2016. Apart from Hindi, the movie is being made in Telugu and Kannada also.
DVV Danayya has acquired the Telugu remake rights and Surender Reddy is going to direct the flick with Ram Charan Teja in the lead role. Arvind Swamy is likely to reprise his role in the Tollywood version too.
Puneet Rajkumar or Upendra is likely to reprise Jayam Ravi's role in the Kannada remake. More details on the remakes are awaited.
