Vijay's 64th movie is more or less confirmed although the actor has not given his final approval for the story. He is getting ready to team up with young filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram fame.
The latest buzz says that the actor is impressed by the subject and expected to take a call on it soon. The movie is expected to be announced before his birthday on June 22.
Grapevine has it that it will be a quickie which will be shot in about 50 days. It looks like the actor wants the film, presently referred to as Thalapathy 64, to be a Pongal release. However, some reports claim that the flick might release for Tamil New Year 2020.
Nonetheless, the news of Lokesh Kanagaraj directing a star of Vijay's calibre has not come as a surprise as the actor has been open for good ideas from young filmmakers and Atlee too got the opportunity to work after his debut film Raja Rani.
Meanwhile, Vijay is busy with his Atlee Kumar's sports drama. The shooting of the movie is happening at a brisk pace in the specially-erected sets on the outskirts of Chennai.
The untitled movie, which marks the third union of Vijay with Atlee after Theri and Mersal, is scheduled for release for Diwali 2019. The AGS Entertainment-funded movie has Nayanthara as the female lead and Jackie Shroff as the villain.
