The release of Vijay's "Thalaivaa" is still a month away but the advance booking for the film has already begun.
"Thalaivaa" is one of the most-anticipated films of 2013. The music and trailer, which were launched on 21 June, have generated a lot of buzz among film industry members as well as Vijay fans.
"Thalaivaa" trailer has taken the internet by storm, receiving more than 18 lakh hits in a week's time. The songs, particularly, "Vaanganna Vanakkangana" song by Vijay, is sure to rock the masses.
It is reported that "Thalaivaa" would be released in August but the makers of the film are yet to make official announcement.
Earlier, some reports suggested that the film might be released on 9 August. In that case, the Vijay-starrer might clash with Arya-Anushka's "Irandam Ulagam", which is expected to be released on the same day. It is also reported the makers of the film might bring it to the theatres on Independence Day (15 August).
"Thalaivaa" is touted to be an action entertainer. The film's story is about a common man turning into a leader. Amala Paul plays the female lead and reportedly dons the role of a police officer's daughter. She would be on a mission to cheat Vijay, who works in Australia, so as to bring him back to India.
The gorgeous actress has dubbed in her own voice for the first time in "Thalaivaa." Directed by A.L. Vijay, the film also boasts of a big star cast including Sathyaraj, Santhanam, Abhimanyu Singh and Rajeev Pillai.
"Thalaivaa" is produced by S. Chandraprakash Jain under Sri Mishri Productions banner and distributed by Vendhar Movies. The telecast rights of the film have been fetched by Sun TV.
Positive feedback and the frenzy surrounding Vijay is expected to give a big boost to "Thalaivaa." It is expected to make a big opening.
