The fans of Vijay and Ajith consider the stars to be rivals but Ilayathalapathy Vijay's mother Shoba Chandrasekhar disagrees. In fact, she says Thala Ajith is a good friend of the "Theri" actor, reports Indiaglitz.
Shoba Chandrasekhar, who is a playback singer, director, writer and producer, adds that she had visited Ajith and Shalini to wish them when they became parents of their second child, Aadik. Talking about the "Mankatha" star's films, the multifaceted personality says she likes the performance of Thala in many movies, including "Vaali," "Aasai" and "Kadhal Kottai."
She stresses that she shares a warm relationship with Ajith's family. Fans may recall that the actor had earlier said she was a mother figure to him and praised the biryani prepared by her.
Ajith and Vijay had worked together in "Rajavin Parvaiyile." But they have not been cast together in a movie thereafter. It is during the making of this film that Thala got a taste of the biryani cooked by Shoba Chandrasekhar.
The actors are the two big stars of Kollywood after Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Though it is widely believed the duo maintains a healthy competition, the fans of the actors often engage in bitter war-of-words and fights.
Ajith and Vijay have clarified time and again that they are good friends and have always tried to bring peace between the two warring groups. However, the their followers continue to pick fights at every given opportunity.
On the professional front, Vijay is getting ready for his next release, "Theri," which will hit the screens April 14. The Atlee Kumar-directed action thriller has Samantha and Amy Jackson in the female lead roles.
On the other hand, Ajith is yet to return to work after undergoing multiple surgeries in November 2015. He will start his next film in June. But the muhurat of the project is expected to be held May 1 to coincide with his birthday.
