AR Murugadoss' latest cover photo on his Twitter account has given rise to rumours that claim that the director is finally teaming up with Ajith Kumar.

The filmmaker is now displaying the poster of their abandoned movie project, "Mirattal," as his cover photo. Many have taken this development as an indication of their coming together this time.

The duo was supposed to join hands in "Mirattal." But the movie was shelved for reasons best known to them. Later, AR Murugadoss revived this film with Suriya and made "Ghajini," which became a blockbuster.

It may be recalled that AR Murugadoss had made his directorial debut with Ajith's "Dheena," which was a superhit film. In fact, the actor got his pet name Thala from this movie.

Rumours about the teaming up of Ajith and AR Murugadoss have been doing rounds for the past few years. In fact, the director on several occasions had claimed that he was willing to direct Thala anytime and the inclination should come from the actor's end.

Now journalist Prashanth has cleared the air on Twitter. He wrote, "Spoke with @ARMurugadoss sir - header pic was out of Respect for Ajith sir. Like fans , he is also waiting for green signal from Ajith sir."

Prashanth further added, "@ARMurugadoss is now focusing on the bilingual of @urstrulyMahesh . Once that is done , he will be back to kollywood for projects."

AR Murugadoss is presently busy with his Hindi movie "Akira," starring Sonakshi Sinha. It is a remake of the hit Tamil film, "Mouna Guru." He is also committed to work with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu in a bilingual film, which will begin later this year.

On the other hand, Ajith is now getting ready to work with Siruthai Siva again in a film, which is presently referred to as "Thala 57." The regular shooting of the movie will start in June or July. The makers plan to release the film next summer.

Apart from this project, Ajith has not signed any movie though he has been having talks with many directors, including Vishnuvardhan.
