There were reports that Akshara Haasan would be playing the second female lead in Ajith's forthcoming movie, which is presently referred to as "Thala 57." Now, the rumours have turned out to be true with the producer admitting that he has signed her to play the second female lead.
Speaking to a Tamil magazine, producer Thyagarajan has said that they have roped in Kamal Haasan's daughter for an important role in the film. But he did not revealed anything about her character in "Thala 57," which marks her debut in Tamil. It may be recalled that her sister Shruti Haasan had romanced Ajith in his previous film "Vedalam."
Akshara made her acting debut in Bollywood film "Shamitabh", and had paired up with Tamil actor Dhanush. Currently, she is working as an assistant director to her father in his multilingual project "Sabaash Naidu."
Kajal Aggarwal plays the main female lead in "Thala 57." She is a part of the first schedule in Belgrade. The shooting of the Tamil flick kick-started on Aug.2 and the makers have plans to shoot a major part of the movie in Europe.
However, the film's antagonist is yet to be signed. The makers have approached a few top names, including Prasanna and Aravind Swamy. Apparently, both the actors have not given their consent yet.
The makers have signed Anirudh Ravichander to score the music. This is his second movie with Ajith and Siruthai Siva after "Vedalam." The upcoming movie has four songs and the music director is ready with the theme song. Anthony Ruben and Vetri have been roped in to handle editing and cinematography departments, respectively.
Siruthai Siva is collaborating with Ajith for the third time, after "Veeram" and "Vedalam." Sathya Jyothi Films is bankrolling the movie, which is expected to be released in April 2017.
