'Thala 57': Kajal Aggarwal joins Ajith in Slovenia

Kajal Aggarwal joined the shooting of Ajith Kumar's upcoming movie, "Thala 57," a few days ago. The actress has revealed the news on her Twitter account.

She wrote, "Starting my film with Ajith sir n crew in Slovenia #lookingforward #newbeginnings #excited #enroute #firstschedule. [sic]." Her tweet also confirmed that the actress would be playing the female lead with Ajith for the first time.

Kajal Aggarwal signed the film only after her other project "Garuda" with Vikram was delayed. As per reports, she was not the first choice to play the female lead in "Thala 57." The makers wanted to cast Anushka Shetty opposite Ajith. But the "Baahubali" actress, who was keen to act in the Ajith-starrer, could not take up the movie for some reasons.

After approaching a few big names, the makers finally signed Kajal Aggarwal. It is being said that "Thala 57" will have two more heroines, whose names are yet to be announced. Names of Kriti Sanon, Ritwika Singh and Akshara Haasan were doing the rounds for other important roles. Recently, Sai Pallavi, who became famous with the Malayalam movie "Premam," was also approached. But she could not take up the project due to date issues.

Meanwhile, the first schedule of the shooting has been started on Monday, Aug. 1. All this while it was reported that the filming would begin in Bulgaria. But the regular shooting has begun in Slovenia.

The makers have planned a 40-day schedule in Europe before returning to Chennai in September to start the next schedule of "Thala 57." The film unit plans to wrap up the shooting in the next six months.

The movie, which is written and directed by Siruthai Siva, is produced by the reputed Sathyajyothi Films. It features Anirudh Ravichander's music, Anthony Ruben's editing and Vetri's cinematography.
