Gautham Menon has revealed he is ready to direct Ajith again, and is working on "Yennai Arindhaal 2". But he has not got the green signal for the project from the actor yet.
Speaking to The Hindu, Gautham Menon has claimed he is interested in making a sequel to "Yennai Arindhaal". "I'd make another 'Yennai Arindhaal'. I'll take the bound script and stand outside his gate," the daily quoted the director as saying.
He has also said he has not got any assurance from Ajith and is yet to start talks with the actor for his next film, which is burrently being referred to as "Thala 57".
Ajith and Gautham Menon collaborated for the first time in "Yennai Arindhaal", which released earlier this year. The film turned out to be an average hit at the box office but critics gave thumbs up to the flick.
Meanwhile, Ajith is recovering from the surgery that he underwent a few weeks ago. He was operated on his shoulder and neck following which he was advised a minimum of nine weeks' bed rest. His recent movie "Vedalam", directed by Siruthai Siva, has done well at the box office, becoming one of the biggest hits of 2015.
Siruthai Siva might reportedly team up with Ajith again. The director has expressed his wish to work with him again and Siva is also in the race to bag "Thala 57".
On the other end, Gautham Menon is yet to complete the script of "Yennai Arindhaal 2". He is currently busy with "Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada", starring Simbu.
"Thala 57" will begin shooting in 2016 and it will hit the screens for Diwali.
