Aravind Swamy, who made his comeback with "Kadal" and won laurels for his stunning performance in "Thani Oruvan," is in talks for a biggie. The buzz is that he has been approached by none other than the makers of Ajith's next film, which is presently referred to as "Thala 57."
Dinamalar reports that the actor is likely to do the role of a villain. It is also reported that Prasanna was also considered for the same role. But nothing is confirmed yet. Ajith will be reportedly seen in the role of an investigating officer in the spy thriller.
So far, only Ajith, Thambi Ramaiah and Karunakaran have been confirmed and the rest of the cast is yet to be revealed. Till recently, it was speculated that Anushka Shetty was roped in to play the love interest of the hero. Later, it was revealed that Sai Pallavi of "Premam" was approached. But her mother has said recently that due to her other commitments, the Malayalam actress could not take up the Tamil project.
The latest buzz is that Kajal Aggarwal is another strong contender to bag the role of the female lead in "Thala 57." It may be recalled that the names of Ritwika Singh of "Iruddhi Suttru" fame was also doing the rounds for the second female lead.
"Thala 57" is the third movie of Ajith to be directed by Siruthai Siva. They had first worked together in "Veeram." Following the success of the movie, they teamed up again in "Vedalam," which turned out to be the biggest hit of 2015. The upcoming movie is bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films.
Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, while Vetri is reportedly handling cinematography and Anthony Ruben is the editor of "Thala 57."
