It seems that Ajith and Siruthai Siva's next film "Thala 57" is not going to be released this year. The buzz says that the Tamil movie will hit the screens in January 2017 as a Pongal treat to the Kollywood audience.
A report on Behindwoods mentions that "Thala 57" might possibly be released on next Pongal. But the exact reason for the delay is not known yet. Earlier, it was speculated that the Tamil flick would release on Diwali 2016.
The shooting of "Thala 57" is yet to start and the team is busy with the pre-production works. Siruthai Siva is said to be having a meeting with the makers on Feb 11 and the main topic of discussions is said to be related to the story.
Ajith is currently on a break after undergoing multiple surgeries in November 2015. The actor will be reportedly spending time with his family members in London. He is expected to join the team in April and the regular shooting will begin in May.
The cast and crew are yet to be finalised, except Anirudh Ravichander, who has been reportedly signed to compose music for "Thala 57." The names of Nayantara, Tamanna Bhatia and Kriti Sanon have been doing the rounds for the movie. But, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Siruthai Siva worked with Ajith for the first time in "Veeram," which turned out to be a hit. They teamed up again for "Vedalam" and it was one of the biggest hits at the Tamil box office in 2015.
