Wednesday evening (16 September) brought some bad news for Ajith Kumar's fans, when it was revealed that the release of the first look of the actor's forthcoming movie, which is presently called by the name "Thala 56", was postponed.
For the last few weeks, it was widely reported that Ajith's "Thala 56" posters would be unveiled along with the title of the film for Ganesh Chathurthi. However, it was delayed without giving a proper explanation. Now, there is buzz doing the rounds that it was postponed due to Rajinikanth's "Kabali".
The first look posters of "Kabali" were released on the eve of Ganesh Chathurthi, 16 September, and the makers of "Thala 56" apparently did not want to get into competition with "Kabali".
It was their way of showing respect towards the Tamil superstar. Hence, they decided to postpone the first look release of "Thala 56". Moreover, the movie has two more months to go for release and they have enough time for promotions. As a result, they decided to delay their plans.
Some reports also say that there were issues with the title and the makers were yet to solve it.
Meanwhile, the first look of "Kabali" has garnered positive reviews. The aged-rugged look of the superstar has gone down well with his fans.
The shooting of the movie was kick-started on 17 September.
Coming back to "Thala 56", there is no clarity on the first look release and the title announcement. However, the movie will release for Diwali and the entire team is working for the release of the film as per schedule.
"Thala 56" stars Shruti Haasan in the female lead role and Lakshmi Menon plays the role of Ajith's sister. It is directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by AM Rathnam.
