Ashwin Kakumanu is the latest actor to be joining the cast of Ajith's forthcoming film, which is temporarily called by the name, "Thala 56". He will be playing a key role in the movie.
This is not the first time that the actor is working with Ajith. Earlier, he had worked in Venkat Prabhu directorial "Mankatha", in which he had donned the role of a cop. Now, he has bagged yet another opportunity to work with the "Billa" star.
It is reported that Ashwin's role is completely different from what he had done in "Mankatha". When the offer came his way, the actor is said to have accepted it without a second thought.
He already took part in the first schedule of the shooting held in Chennai and he will now be travelling to Kolkata to shoot the next schedule.
"Thala 56" is an urban-centric film directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by AM Rathnam. While he had directed Ajith's "Veeram", the producer bank-rolled the actor's recent films like "Arrambam" and "Yennai Arindhaal".
The upcoming Tamil film features Shruti Haasan in the female lead role. Lakshmi Menon plays the role of Ajith's sister and Kabir Singh will be the baddie in the film, which is mostly likely to hit the screens for Diwali.
The movie has Anirudh Ravichander's music, Antony L Ruben's editing, cinematography by Vetri and action choreography by 'Stunt' Silva.
