Ajith-Gautham Menon's "Thala 55" is in its last leg of shooting and the team is busy wrapping up the project. Ever since the film went on floors, very few details about the much-awaited project have been revealed.
In a recent interview to Tamil publication Ananda Vikatan, Gautham Menon has revealed some interesting tidbits about Ajith as well as about "Thala 55."
The director has stated that "Thala 55" will not be a regular Ajith film and chronicles the life of the hero from his 28th year when he gets married for the next ten years. The actor will be sporting four different looks in the film. Fans have already got to see the actor's three looks, including his salt and pepper look, black hair with a crew cut and the recently-released mass avatar with a beard.
Interestingly, Ajith himself decided on his looks after listening to the film's script. The actor also learnt boxing and guitar on his own interest for the film.
Gautham also stated that he has not yet revealed the film's climax to Ajith. When the director had narrated the script to thala, he was very much impressed after listening to the first half and some 30 minutes in the second half and began shooting for the project. The film's shooting is progressing at a brisk pace, but Gautham is yet to narrate the climax to the actor.
Trisha and Anushka: Gautham also stated that Trisha was apprehensive about the scope of her role as Anushka is also part of the project, but still agreed to do the film. When he informed this to Anushka, the "Singam" actress even offered to exchange her role with Trisha.
Later, on hearing Anushka's reply, Trisha stated that Anushka is a good-hearted person and added that she does not have any issues with her role and agreed to be part of the film, Gautham said in the interview. The director revealed that both the actresses have equal scope to perform in the Ajith starrer.
Arun Vijay: Gautham refused to reveal whether Arun Vijay plays the negative role or plays as Ajith's friend. However, he appreciated Arun for accepting his role in "Thala 55" despite having proved as a hit hero. The director also revealed that Ajith complimented Arun for maintaining a fit physique and told him that the latter is his motivation.
Songs: Nearly after six years, Gautham has teamed up with music composer Harris Jayaraj. The director has revealed that there will be five songs in the film. He also stated that the team has taken extra efforts to make each song an all time hit.
"Thala 55" shooting is expected to be wrapped up soon. The film might hit the screens in December or during the Pongal festival period in January 2015.
