The shooting of Ajith-Gautham Menon's "Thala 55" is in the final stages, according to the film's cinematographer, Dan Macarthur.
"The shoot resumes as we embark on the final leg of this fantastic project," tweeted Macarthur.
"Thala 55" shooting commenced in April and has been progressing well. The Ajith starrer has mostly been shot in Chennai, while some schedules have taken place in Hyderabad, northern and eastern India and Malaysia among others.
The shooting is expected to be completely wrapped up by October end after which the post-production work will commence. The film is likely to hit the screens for Pongal 2015. There is also a possibility that it might make it to theatres in December.
Fans have been eagerly waiting to know the film's title as well as see the first look. Earlier, there were speculations that the title will be released on Ganesh Chaturthi day in August. However, the makers did not reveal anything about the project. Titles such as "Äayiram Thottakkal" and "Satyadev" were doing the rounds on the net. But, "Thala 55" team is yet to officially announce the film's title.
The title and the first look poster are expected to be revealed in November. It is also speculated that the film's audio launch will take place around the same time.
Directed by Gautham Menon, "Thala 55" is touted to be an action thriller film with Ajith reportedly appearing in the role of a cop.
The actor was last seen doing a cop's role in the 2011-release "Mankatha." Nearly after four years, he will be once again seen as a police officer in "Thala 55." The actor will also be seen sporting different looks in the action entertainer.
Anushka Shetty and Trisha Krishnan play the female leads, while Arun Vijay will be appearing as the baddie for the first time. The film also has Vivek, Thalaivasal Vijay, baby Anika and Devi Ajith among others.
Harris Jayaraj will be composing the sound tracks for the Ajith starrer. This will be his sixth Tamil film with Gautham Menon after "Minnale," "Kaakha Kaakha," "Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu," "Patchaikili Muthucharam" and "Vaaranam Aayiram. "Thala 55" is being edited by Anthony, while AM Ratnam is producing the film.
