A dashcam in eastern Chonburi province, Thailand, captured a green fireball, believed to be a burning meteor, shoot across the night sky on Monday night (2 November), an incident reportedly seen across wide areas of Thailand.
The fireball was spotted in many provinces in Thailand, including those adjacent to Bangkok such as Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, as well as Chonburi, local broadcaster Thai PBS reported. There were also reports of similar sightings in Poland and New York.
The Thai Astronomical Society stated on its Facebook page that the shooting star seen from Bangkok could be identified as a fireball, given its brightness. The society added that it did not appear to be posing any risks.
