Popular Telugu film director Dasari Narayana Rao passed away on Tuesday, after a prolonged illness.
The veteran personality was suffering from multiple health issues, and was admitted in hospital a number of times. Dasari recently had undergone surgeries due to lungs and kidney issues.
He was also a fomer Union Minister of State for Coal. Dasari died at the age of 75. The National-Award winning director holds his name in Guiness Book of Records for making 125 movies in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
Dasari was admitted in hospital in the month of January after he had complained about respiratory problems. He was under ICU, and had undergone a chest surgery as well. Dasari started his career as a Telugu director with the movie Samsaram Sagaram in 1973. Apart from directing, he was also a well-known dialogue writer and lyricist.
He was honoured with two National Awards, nine state Nandi Awards and six Filmfare Awards in South. Some of his most popular movies are Megha Sandesham, Osey Ramulamma, Premabhishekam and Tata Manavadu.
Dasari's demise came as a big loss for the Telugu film industry. As soon as the news of his death reached social media, series of reactions followed. Apart from his fans, several big personalities took to Twitter and expressed grief at the death of Dasari. Check some of the tweets below:
